Started in early 2021 and completed in August, Chaos Ensues represents Tim’s inner mind and consciousness. While normally highly organized and methodical in his business endeavors, he describes his creative mind to be organized chaos and governed by Chaos Theory. In late 2019, while on vacation with his family in St Lucia, Tim remembers having a conversation with his father about “some virus in China” that they saw on TV. Returning home to the US, they had no idea what life changing event was about unravel. Two weeks before the lockdowns started, Tim stocked up, making a number of Costco orders. While waiting for these orders to be delivered, he started this drawing on the whiteboard in his garage. Various elements were added throughout the year as new information hit the news. This piece took close to 8 months to complete and a few different versions were released on social media.

While taking cues from The X-Files and including various childhood fictional characters, this art piece depicts our inherent human nature to believe in things that aren’t real. While we are unsure about aliens, we are pretty sure that everything else is accurate. From Bigfoot to Santa, the easter bunny, unicorns, Smurfs and Snorks … this is a statement and conversation piece, suggesting that it is important to keep a child’s mind and outlook on reality. We all want to believe in some thing.

While humans cannot breathe underwater natively, these creatures can. Tim’s origin of fascinations with underwater creatures is unknown. Maybe it stems from him unconsciously living within 10 minutes of the ocean throughout the past twenty years. As a child, and even as an adult, he enjoys getting inspiration from aquariums and the interesting and bizarre alien creatures caged up on display.
